Schedule

Customize my schedule

Gaba doesn't just offer you a range of different fixed schedules to choose from, like many language schools do. We allow you to design the schedule yourself.

Gaba instructors design a wide range of different schedules. For many, Gaba is the only language school they work with. These instructors regularly teach over 200 lessons a month with top performers taking home over 300,000 yen for their efforts. Other instructors have work or study commitments, so they choose a Gaba schedule to fit around them. For example, an instructor enrolled in Japanese language school Monday to Friday may decide to teach at Gaba after classes Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturdays. Come exam time, perhaps she scales back her weekday availability to get in more preparation.

Gaba's unique contract system makes this possible. Since our system is pretty different from most other language schools people usually have a few things they want to ask...

- How many days a week do I need to work?

You choose the number of days per week you want to teach. You don't even have to work the same schedule two weeks in a row.

- Which days will I teach?

Whichever days you like! If you have family or other work commitments that occupy you on a particular day, simply plan your Gaba schedule accordingly. Take that Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday out!

- How many lessons do I need to teach each day?

There is no minimum. Submit a schedule of as many lessons as you can comfortable teach. Do keep in mind client availability; weekday evenings are usually busier than afternoons, so plan to work when lessons are in demand to maximize your time at the studio.

- What about vacations?

You design your schedule at Gaba, so there is no vacation request process. If you plan to take a vacation you just don't request to work that day. You can take a break from lessons for 1 week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks... we only ask that you tell us beforehand.
